Meller Design offers a full design consultation focusing on client brief. We produce detailed layouts and sections, working drawings and detailed design. We liaise with local and statutory authorities including submitting the necessary applications, manage other design team members, and produce detailed tender information.

CDM Co-ordination
The legal requirements for health and safety have become more demanding in recent times. In order to offer our clients a fully comprehensive service Meller offer CDM Co-ordination services.
Meller provide a clear understanding of CDM regulations and provide our clients with high level services required to administer the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 (CDM).
As a CDM Coordinator, Meller will handle the risk management factors associated with health and safety. Our highly experienced CDM Coordinators have worked on numerous construction projects including complex new build, demolition, extensions, relocations and disposals – often in the most demanding circumstances.
We also offer an enhanced CDM service above and beyond that of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. We offer a superior role as CDM Coordinator to ensure our Client not only stays within the law, but also raises their Health and Safety management beyond those basic legal requirements.
Construction Management
Construction Management is an alternative method of delivering projects which cut out the traditional use of a main contractor.
A short and simple definition would be :
‘Management of a construction project by a reliable consultant working with you and for you.’
Meller act as your consultant through the early stages of brief, feasibility and design, which then continues once the project reaches the construction phase.
Rather than tendering the works to a number of main contractors, who simply tender the works to their sub-contractors, we tender directly to the sub-contractors.
This means the profit margin normally applied by the main contractor is removed – reducing overall costs.
Once the main contractor has won the project his main aim will be to further reduce his costs. For example, re-tendering the sub-contract packages, squeezing the sub-contractors for further discounts, late payments, and reducing the specification and quality. None of this benefit would come to you.
With Construction Management all the work is genuinely ‘open-book’ because the sub-contractors are employed by you and paid by you. As a project owner you have full knowledge of where your money is being spent on the project.
